Custom glass table tops and shelving, cut to fit your furniture and space. Measured and installed by MG Glass in the Atlanta metro.
A glass table top protects the surface underneath while keeping the original material visible. At MG Glass, we cut and install custom glass table tops and shelving to fit the actual dimensions of your furniture and built-ins. Whether it's an heirloom dining table that needs protection, an oversized console that calls for a longer span, or floating glass shelves in a bathroom remodel, we measure on-site and cut it to fit.

Glass table tops go on dining tables, coffee tables, desks, and consoles. We record the exact dimensions of the base and cut a panel that sits evenly without shifting. We check your support points, confirm how the glass will rest on the base, and recommend the right thickness for your table size and use.
Glass shelves let light pass through, keeping the space brighter and more open than solid shelving. We cut each shelf to match the width and depth of your bracket or mounting system. We review bracket spacing, wall construction, and the load the shelves will hold — those details guide our thickness recommendation before we cut anything.
Glass thickness affects how well your table top or shelf performs. Smaller panels on a solid base can use thinner glass. Larger spans across open frames need thicker glass for stability. We evaluate the base structure and the distance between support points to determine the right fit.

We finish every edge so the glass is smooth and safe to touch. A flat polished edge gives exposed glass table tops a clean, modern look. A seamed edge works better when the glass sits inside a recessed frame and the edge stays hidden. Rounded corners reduce sharp edges in high-traffic areas — worth considering for coffee tables and dining tables in busy households.
Many furniture bases need glass panels with custom shapes — round tops, oval panels, or a shape that follows the outline of the base. Some pieces need cutouts too, like a center hole for an umbrella pole or a notch to fit around hardware. We record the shape and size of your furniture so the finished panel fits centered and stable. For irregular curves, we create a template first to guide the cut.
We place small rubber pads between the glass and the furniture base during installation. The pads prevent sliding and spread weight evenly across the support points, which reduces stress on the glass. Wide gaps in the base can concentrate pressure and raise the risk of damage — we flag any spacing concerns before the glass is cut.

Juan Marquez started MG Glass in 1999 with a pickup truck in Lawrenceville. He still oversees every project. The crew is licensed and insured, and we regularly take on jobs other companies pass on — unusual shapes, oversized spans, heirloom furniture that needs extra care. If something isn't right, we fix it.

Most dining table tops use 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch tempered glass. The right thickness depends on the size of the table and how the base supports the glass. We confirm this when we measure on-site.
Extreme heat alone will not crack tempered glass. Rapid temperature changes can stress glass that is too thin or poorly supported. We recommend thicker tempered glass for outdoor patio tables and check that the base allows for even heat distribution.
Tempered glass is a smart choice for coffee tables in active households, especially homes with children or pets. It is stronger than standard glass and breaks into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards.
Most custom panels are ready within one to two weeks depending on shape, size, and glass type. We measure on a separate visit and place the order once all dimensions are confirmed.
Great communication, pricing and installation. Friendly and helpful guys were able to replace a custom build window. Thank you!
I can't justly describe the amount of money this team saved us on updating the 43 windows in our home. The team was first class from their survey to their installation process and production timelines. Other firms didn't get it right. Finally, they really stand by their work!
Update 10/1/2022 I've changed my rating to 5 stars. Last month MG Glass reached out to advise they received in the square hinges and asked if I wanted to swap out. Why of course!!! This is excellent customer service - own it and make it right! Love how my glass shower door. So many compliments. I've added a new pic of the square hinges. So far so good! Love the way my frameless shower door looks. The reason for the 4 star and not 5 star, my hardware doesn't match the style. The handle and clips are square but the hinges are curved.
