Why Atlanta Venues Choose Commercial Glass Wine Cellars

A commercial glass wine cellar has to hold temperature, handle daily service conditions, and stay structurally sound in a public space. At MG Glass, we design and install commercial glass wine cellars for restaurants, hotels, private clubs, wine bars, and steakhouses across Atlanta. We coordinate with cooling contractors and millwork teams throughout every project — from floor-to-ceiling displays visible from the dining floor to glass wine rooms that anchor lounge and event spaces.

Glass Specification for Commercial Enclosures

Not all glass is appropriate for an enclosed commercial wine cellar. We use insulated glass units suited for the demands of the space — properly specified for size, exposure, and occupancy.

Low iron glass removes the slight green tint found in standard glass so your bottles and racking remain clearly visible. Tempered safety glass is standard for commercial applications. Laminated glass is the better choice in hospitality settings where breakage retention reduces risk and disruption.

All panels are fabricated to verified field dimensions. We do not work from architectural drawings alone.

Structural Stability for Commercial Glass Wine Cellars

Commercial wine cellars live in high-traffic spaces. Glass has to meet safety glazing requirements and stay stable when guests move past the enclosure or lean near it. Tempered safety glass is standard. Laminated glass is the better choice in hospitality settings where breakage retention reduces risk and disruption. All anchoring ties into structural framing, not surface finishes. When the enclosure borders a mezzanine or overlook, guardrail integration is part of the structural plan from the start.

Commercial Wine Cellar Design Integration

Clear frameless panels create uninterrupted sightlines, and hardware finishes tie into your interior design and branding. A few coordination issues consistently affect the finished result: poor lighting placement creates glare and uneven reflection, high-output fixtures influence internal cellar temperature, and slight floor slope or ceiling variation becomes obvious at full height once glass goes in. Field measurement verifies actual conditions so the enclosure sits square within the architecture. We don't fabricate from drawings alone.

How We Install Commercial Glass Wine Cellars

  • Site visit: We verify floor level, ceiling height, wall plumb, anchoring surfaces, and cooling placement before panel dimensions are finalized.
  • Planning: Glass spec, hardware finish, thermal configuration, and structural anchoring. Nothing gets fabricated until you approve.
  • Pricing and timeline: Firm quote, set schedule. Timeline accounts for trade sequencing so glass goes in after adjacent finishes are set.
  • Install day: Panels are staged and set methodically. Door operation is cycled and seal integrity is verified before the system is considered complete.
  • Walkthrough: We confirm panel alignment, door operation, and seal integrity before we leave. Our sign-off covers the glass enclosure — everything else, including temperature and humidity control, is coordinated through your HVAC contractor.

Why Venues Trust MG Glass for Commercial Glass Wine Cellars

Juan Marquez started MG Glass in 1999 with a pickup truck in Lawrenceville. He still oversees every project. The crew is licensed and insured, and we regularly take on jobs other companies pass on — multi-trade coordination, climate-sensitive enclosures, hospitality builds where the install has to work around service schedules. If something isn't right, we fix it.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does condensation form on commercial glass wine cellar panels?

Surface moisture on the glass is typically a glazing specification issue or an HVAC matter — or both. MG Glass specifies and installs the appropriate glass for enclosed commercial applications. If fogging or moisture persists after installation, that points to the climate control system, which is your HVAC contractor's scope.

What glass type works best for commercial glass wine cellars?

Insulated glass units are standard for enclosed commercial applications. Tempered or laminated safety glass is required depending on panel size and location. We confirm the right specification based on panel size, exposure, and occupancy before fabrication begins.

Can a commercial glass wine cellar integrate with an existing guardrail system?

Yes. When the enclosure borders a mezzanine or overlook, guardrail integration is part of the structural plan from the start. We confirm code compliance and load requirements before design is finalized.

How do you coordinate commercial glass wine cellar installation with the cooling contractor?

MG Glass handles the glass enclosure. Temperature and humidity control are entirely within your HVAC contractor's scope. We don't design, install, or service those systems. What we do is sequence our glass work around the other trades. HVAC, millwork, flooring — so everything goes in cleanly and no one's work conflicts with another's.

Do you handle custom panel sizes for non-standard commercial wine cellar layouts?

Yes. All panels are fabricated to verified field dimensions. We measure actual conditions on site rather than working from architectural drawings alone.

What Other People Are Saying

Great Communication and Pricing

Great communication, pricing and installation. Friendly and helpful guys were able to replace a custom build window. Thank you!

Saved Us a Fortune

I can't justly describe the amount of money this team saved us on updating the 43 windows in our home. The team was first class from their survey to their installation process and production timelines. Other firms didn't get it right. Finally, they really stand by their work!

Excellent Customer Service

Update 10/1/2022 I've changed my rating to 5 stars. Last month MG Glass reached out to advise they received in the square hinges and asked if I wanted to swap out. Why of course!!! This is excellent customer service - own it and make it right! Love how my glass shower door. So many compliments. I've added a new pic of the square hinges. So far so good! Love the way my frameless shower door looks. The reason for the 4 star and not 5 star, my hardware doesn't match the style. The handle and clips are square but the hinges are curved.
